2. Stagnant Blood

Stagnant blood is a pathological product resulting from disturbance and stagnation of blood circulation, including sluggish moving in blood circulation, or extravasated blood in meridians or viscera due to disturbed blood flow, all of which may turn into pathogenic factors. Impairment of the blood circulation and accumulation can give rise to various diseases, symptoms comprising pain caused by blood stasis, palpable mass, purple tongue proper with ecchymoses, and uneven, knotted, intermittment or impalpable pulse; stagnant-blood headache, blood-stasis abdominal pain, blood-stasis lumbago, blood-stasis amenorrhea, hypomenorrhea due to blood stagnation, blood-stasis dysmenorrhea, blood-stasis metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, blood stasis infertility, etc.

Chinese used herbs replenish qi and activate blood, dissipate blood stasis and promote blood circulation.
